Book Consolidation FAQ's

1. Q: What is a book consolidation service?
A: It allows our customers to have one point of delivery to where all their foreign book orders are consolidated, packed, and then transported as a single consignment. The advantage of this system is economy, security, and efficiency.

2. Q: Is there additional cost for holding consignments?
A: We do not invoice for rental costs unless the time period is excessive.

3. Q: How do we know what books you have in your terminal awaiting shipment?
A: We send our customers a weekly ‘Awaiting shipment report’ which indicates our reference, Publisher, Invoice Number, Weight and Cartons or Pallets. This information is also available on our Track and Trace system - see item 9.

4. Q: How will you contact me or send these reports?
A: Our preferred method is by email, the report takes the form of an attached Rich Text Format file which most word processors can open or a pdf file. However, we can fax reports if required.

5. Q: Can we set up a agreement to send our books when a certain weight limit is reached?
A: You can issue an instruction so that when a certain weight or time is reached we will automatically send you your book shipments on the next available consolidation.

6. Q: Can we have a credit account set up even though we are based outside the UK?
A: We always try to arrange a credit account obviously based on credit checks or references.

7. Q: If a consignment is lost or mislaid what can we expect in compensation?
A: We can offer you “All Risks Insurance” which will compensate you for the full value of your Books, Freight + 10% at a very affordable rate (Exclusive to standard rates).

8. Q: Who will look after my account – who do I contact in the event of a query?
A: In most areas day to day queries are dealt with by our local agents. At Worldwide Book Services you have a consistent point of contact as our staff are individually responsible for their area of speciality. They are always on hand during normal office hours to deal with your queries and provide information.
